Safari Club Tee

$ 19.95 USD

Once nestled in an industrial corner of a pre-gentrified South End, the Safari Club was Boston's last bathhouse. Its story as a health and social club was full of challenges in an era when venues of its kind were targeted for health code violations. A quarter of a century after its closing, Boston residents reminisce on the Safari Club—a place for exploration within a puritanical population. This original design was inspired by signage of the club's exterior in one of its last remaining images. May this shirt spur conversation and memories to keep its story alive. A portion of the proceeds goes to support The History Project, working to preserve and document New England's queer history.
